Emilie Kay

I graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am an easy-going but determined clinician with a strong ability to recognize maladaptive patterns of behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that interfere with a higher level of functioning and help motivate positive change. Although my approach is gentle and encouraging, I can be confident and direct. I obtained my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2021 and have eight years of experience in the mental health field working in and with various populations, including case management, intake coordination, and residential, inpatient, and outpatient programs. I have worked with children and adolescents. However, adult psychopathology is my expertise. I am certified in Brainspotting to help individuals deeply process negative emotions and trauma/significant life events.Additionally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and safety planning in sessions/groups. I believe that as clients learn to understand and accept themselves and their life experiences better, they can become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more resilient individuals. I am motivated to help individuals develop a stronger sense of self to promote positive, lasting change.
