I am in California so the law here is a little different with a 30 day period and 2 therapy sessions but it was extremely worth it

"I would give my experience 10000/5 stars! I have already recommended your company to another friend. It was a straightforward no gimmicks service, and the doctor was genuinely concerned.

My new rescue cat Marston really appreciates that he is able to live with me now!

"They are five stars all the way! The site helped set me up with a professional therapist, who is licensed in my state. It was very easy to setup calls or opportunities to communicate with them that worked for both of us.

Most of all they allowed me to keep my cats Mew and Espurr. “

My experience with Pettable's process was quite positive; it was easy to navigate and my apartment accepted my letter without any issues. I scheduled my consultation a week in advance and the entire process didn't take long.

If it were not for Pettable, it would have taken much longer to get my Mini Goldendoodle, approved to live with me! I had not been to a regular therapist in over a year and knew that route would have taken much longer to get an approved ESA letter. However, Pettable was quick & timely in connecting me with a LOCAL Therapist who could help me with my situation! I was honestly skeptical, but Pettable was easy to work with & so helpful!

Top of the line service from the Nurse helping me with my ESA. Had some hiccups with the landlord wanting additional stuff, Tina was able to resolve those, and make sure me and my dogs were protected. Bravo to Tina! Would recommend. My dogs are now official ESAS and I can’t be extorted by the landlord.

I would definitely recommend to others. It's nice to have the capability of calling a vet in case of emergency. Getting my dogs certified helped ease the pressure. Now I know my dogs can be there for me, and I will be there for them. Thank You for having the package deal I appreciate all of the staff. You all have treated me very nice. The Therapist was easy to talk to. I would recommend to everyone.

I was skeptical when I started researching companies and found Pettable. I took the chance because of the money-back guarantee and the cost was WAY less than paying $600 in deposits and $50/mo in pet rent. The process was so easy and painless. The therapist who called me was quick, so kind and super sweet. I could have talked her ear off for days! My letter came in that afternoon and my new home accepted it with no problems at all. Wonderful service! Will use them again when my child moves off for college and takes her cats. 🥰

I liked how detailed it was and it gave me the opportunity to have my best friends legally supported by the care act. Thanks, guys!

Why choose an ESA in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma law supports the use of Emotional Support Animals for individuals with mental or emotional disablities. With a valid ESA letter you can.

  • Live in housing with “no pets” policies without additional fees.
  • Have your ESA recognized as part of your mental health treatment.
  • Benefit from protections under the Fair Housing Act.

How to Get an ESA Letter in Oklahoma Online

Your first step to obtaining an emotional support animal (ESA) letter in Oklahoma is to be evaluated by a licensed mental health professional (LMHP) who is authorized to practice in your state. Legally, these are the only clinicians who have the authority to determine whether an emotional support animal would be a valuable asset to your mental health treatment plan.

By choosing Pettable as your ESA letter provider, you can connect with one of our LMHPs for an online appointment today, without ever having to leave the comfort of your home!

ESA Laws in Oklahoma

As previously mentioned, federal legislation such as the Fair Housing Act (FHA) obligates Oklahoma landlords to make reasonable accommodations for your emotional support animal to live with you – as long as you possess a legitimate ESA letter. Likewise, landlords cannot impose any extra pet fees or weight or breed restrictions on emotional support animals.

Unfortunately, it remains legal to deny emotional support animals – unlike service animals – access to most public places, including workplaces. However, you can always show your ESA letter to the owner of an establishment and see if they will admit your companion animal.

Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), this applies to airline flights, as well. It’s up to the airline to decide whether they will make special allowances for emotional support animals. If you'd like to fly with your emotional support animal, you have a few options. You can provide the airline with your ESA letter and see if they will accommodate you. If they refuse, a companion animal can travel as an ordinary pet – in a carrier or in cargo. Alternatively, you could train your ESA as a psychiatric service dog (PSD) so that they will be admitted in the cabin with you for all commercial flights.

Emotional Support Animals in Oklahoma

The state of Oklahoma understands that some individuals have a legitimate need for an emotional support animal. There are several laws in place that protect your entitlement to the therapeutic benefits that come with owning an assistance animal. Most notably, both Oklahoma law and the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) protect your right to request reasonable accommodation from a housing provider so that you can live with your emotional support animal.

How Do You Qualify for an ESA in Oklahoma?

In Oklahoma, the first step towards qualifying for an emotional support animal is to meet with a licensed therapist. Your therapist will evaluate your emotional or mental disability to determine whether you have a disability-related need for an assistance animal. If so, they can make it part of your mental health treatment plan.
