Answer a few questions about your ESA needs
Many Texans struggle with mental health challenges and seek out the comfort of an emotional support animal. At Pettable we can connect you with compassionate mental health professionals to write you legitimate ESA letters, ensuring you are never seperated from your support animal.
Let's get you the support you deserve.
Your first step to obtaining an emotional support animal (ESA) letter in Oklahoma is to be evaluated by a licensed mental health professional (LMHP) who is authorized to practice in your state. Legally, these are the only clinicians who have the authority to determine whether an emotional support animal would be a valuable asset to your mental health treatment plan.
By choosing Pettable as your ESA letter provider, you can connect with one of our LMHPs for an online appointment today, without ever having to leave the comfort of your home!

We'll help with any extra forms you need signed and our therapists are available to talk to your landlord anytime, for an additional fee.
* For Arkansas, California, Iowa, Louisiana and Montana residents, new laws requires those seeking an ESA letter to establish a client-provider relationship with the individual for at least 30 days prior to providing documentation, which will result in having two consultations before qualifying.
The state of Oklahoma understands that some individuals have a legitimate need for an emotional support animal. There are several laws in place that protect your entitlement to the therapeutic benefits that come with owning an assistance animal. Most notably, both Oklahoma law and the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) protect your right to request reasonable accommodation from a housing provider so that you can live with your emotional support animal.
As previously mentioned, federal legislation such as the Fair Housing Act (FHA) obligates Oklahoma landlords to make reasonable accommodations for your emotional support animal to live with you – as long as you possess a legitimate ESA letter. Likewise, landlords cannot impose any extra pet fees or weight or breed restrictions on emotional support animals.
Unfortunately, it remains legal to deny emotional support animals – unlike service animals – access to most public places, including workplaces. However, you can always show your ESA letter to the owner of an establishment and see if they will admit your companion animal.
Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), this applies to airline flights, as well. It’s up to the airline to decide whether they will make special allowances for emotional support animals. If you'd like to fly with your emotional support animal, you have a few options. You can provide the airline with your ESA letter and see if they will accommodate you. If they refuse, a companion animal can travel as an ordinary pet – in a carrier or in cargo. Alternatively, you could train your ESA as a psychiatric service dog (PSD) so that they will be admitted in the cabin with you for all commercial flights.
In Oklahoma, the first step towards qualifying for an emotional support animal is to meet with a licensed therapist. Your therapist will evaluate your emotional or mental disability to determine whether you have a disability-related need for an assistance animal. If so, they can make it part of your mental health treatment plan.
