Answer a few questions about your ESA needs
Many Texans struggle with mental health challenges and seek out the comfort of an emotional support animal. At Pettable we can connect you with compassionate mental health professionals to write you legitimate ESA letters, ensuring you are never seperated from your support animal.
Let's get you the support you deserve.
The process of getting an ESA letter is quick and simple when you work with the team at Pettable. An ESA letter is an official document that certifies your need for an ESA. These letters must be written by licensed mental health practitioners (LMHP) including doctors, psychologists, counselors, and psychiatrists. It's important that they live in your home state and that the letter includes specific details of your condition and your ESA.
When you work with us, we will happily connect you to an LMHP in your state, just follow a few quick and easy steps.

We'll help with any extra forms you need signed and our therapists are available to talk to your landlord anytime, for an additional fee.
* For Arkansas, California, Iowa, Louisiana and Montana residents, new laws requires those seeking an ESA letter to establish a client-provider relationship with the individual for at least 30 days prior to providing documentation, which will result in having two consultations before qualifying.
While Wyoming doesn’t have explicit laws regarding ESAs, they are protected under the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA). This means that those with ESAs can access fair and equal housing rights. While they aren't legally protected in terms of employment, an ESA letter can help you advocate for the right to bring your ESA to work. Nonetheless, this will ultimately be at the discretion of your employer.
The FHA ensures that housing providers make ‘reasonable accommodations’ for those with ESAs. They cannot deny a person with an ESA the right to live in rented accommodation even if the housing complex doesn’t allow pets. Under this law, ESAs are seen as assistance animals.
ESAs were protected by the Department of Transportation’s Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) however, laws have since changed and now ESAs are seen as pet animals rather than service animals. Their presence on flights and the wavering of pet tariffs are at the discretion of the specific airline. Oftentimes, owners with ESAs will be charged to travel with their animals.
To qualify for an ESA, it’s important to chat with a licensed medical professional. They will verify that you have an emotional or mental health disability that will benefit from a support animal. Happily, the process is simple when you work with Pettable. We’ll connect you to a medical professional and once you consult with them you can discuss your ESA needs.
ESAs have numerous benefits and can significantly reduce the impact of many mental and emotional health disabilities.
ESAs offer incredible social connections and can mitigate the impact of many mental and emotional health-related symptoms. They can ease loneliness, reduce depression, calm anxiety, and provide unconditional love. They are also hugely beneficial for those who struggle with social anxiety as they can offer a sense of security and provide emotional protection when their owners navigate the outside world.
ESAs provide an incredible routine. Whether it’s walking your dog, feeding your cat at specific times, or cuddling your guinea pig as you relax on the couch, ESAs give their owners a brilliant sense of purpose through routine.
ESA letters give those with ESAs the right to live with their pets, even if the accommodation does not allow animals. This enables people to access fair housing rights.
Psychiatric service dogs (PSD) are regarded as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). You can train your existing dog or find a dog through a reputable animal shelter or breeder.
